Loft Insulation & Cavity Wall Insulation Grants

Grants are available towards the cost of installing loft and cavity wall insulation and in some cases they can cover the entire cost of having insulation installed. Loft Insulation

Installing loft insulation to the recommended depth of 270mm/11" can save you up to £115 per. year on your fuel bills. Blankets of insulation are rolled between and then across the joists. The grant schemes also provide for pipe and cold-water tank lagging in addition to insulating and draught proofing the hatch. Most homes with under 4" of existing insulation can be topped up.

Cavity Wall Insulation

Having cavity wall insulation professionally installed can save you up to £150 per year on your energy bills. The insulation is blown into holes in the mortar T-joints between two layers of brickwork. Most properties built of brick between 1924 and 1982 are suitable for cavity wall insulation. Pre-1924 homes are likely to be solid wall and post-1982 should be insulated from new.
